The Fairfield Echo is a weekly broadsheet newspaper founded in Fairfield, Ohio and owned by Cox Enterprises. The paper covers news, politics, local events, entertainment, and sports in Fairfield and Fairfield Township in Butler County. The Fairfield Echo shares staff and resources with other Cox newspapers in the area, including the JournalNews in Hamilton, Ohio and its seven other weekly newspapers in Butler and Warren counties.
The Echo was established on September 7, 1956, nearly a year after Fairfield became a city (October 1955). According to its September 7, 2006 issue on A1: Since its first edition, "the Echo has tried to tell its readers about how the city and township governments operated, how the school district educated its children or how a new construction project would affect their lives."
